Beeston Castle November 7th 2006

beeston071106" Who went to Beeston today?? I went and cant believe what i seen!! So much for the 2 RSPCA inspectors. They were to busy talking. I really lost it today. Near the end, a really frightened sec a foal came in the ring, the guy in the ring, held a red lunge type crop, banging the floor, gates and tapping the foals with it. He chased the foal around the ring, which slipped a few times, then as it was leaving, it fell. As if that wasnt the end, 2 guys went into the pen to put head collar on it. The foal slipped again, its legs either side of the bars, how it never broke its leg, i will nevr know. At this point one of the guys booted the foal, the 2 guys and a lady, tackled it to try and get a head collar on it, it fell again, on its back, with its legs wrapped around the bars, one guy, anout 13 stone sat on it, literally,by which time the foal was flat on its back, legs in the air, leaning up the gate!!

All this time they had cigerettes in their hands or mouth.. shame they didnt choke on them. He finally got the headcollar, on. Then left it tied up on a short lead rope. They all walked away stating foals like that need putting in his place. It seems like it lasted ages, maybe 5 mins, but i have owned horses for 30yrs, and never been so shocked that things like this happen in 2006!! My 4 yr old daughter, is so upset over what she seen, we have been home for an hour now, and she hasnt stopped crying. Other than that, I only seen a few skinny foals, some had hay, but many didnt. What did you think????? " Report by Babycham.

These are the current regulations. Clearly there were more than one breach of these regulations. The law is there and with power to stop these things happening so why wasn't it being stopped!!! EMW - support us and WE WILL NOT LOOK AWAY
