Each day at our sanctuary horses and ponies present us with new questions to be answered.

Sometimes we need outside help to get things right. This was the case when working with 24-year-old Patch ( sadly now deceased). This 14.2hh pony had been through a lot prior to coming into our sanctuary. One of the issues Patch had was with farriery. Our traditional approach had not worked and so we needed outside and alternative help.
Mel Richards, barefoot trimmer and trainer, kindly visited Patch and with her different and gentle method easily managed to trim this pony without any one else holding him or controlling him. Patch was comfortable with Mel and she with him. The end result after just 35 minutes was a pony trimmed within his own comfort zone and no longer fearing lifting his feet. EMW UK have the huge benefit of having Mel and the team of other trimmers coming regularily and trimming our sanctuary horses and ponies as a good will gesture. They look at each horse and treat them as the individuals they are.

At EMW-UK we are so fortunate to be supported by NAF and use a wide range of these wonderful products every single day, all of these aid the horses and ponies that come to us in terible bodily condition, those who are afraid and/or abused and help with the recovery leading them back to a path towards peace and trust. We would like to thank all those who come and give freely of their time and skills and products to this charity, without the support of the above mentioned we would be less able to help horses in trouble..
